St Nicholas Shoe Drive
The Lincoln Square Christkindl Market "kicks" its St. Nicholas shoes off with a charity shoe drive benefiting St. Vincent DePaul Society of Chicago. The charity shoe drive coincides with the official kickoff of the Lincoln Square Christkindl Market which takes place December 4, 5 and 6th at the corner of Leland and Lincoln Avenue.

2009 Christkindl Market

In 2008, with the generous support of Lincoln Square's own Piggy Toes, we collected more than 1,000 pairs of new or gently worn shoes to benefit those in need in the Chicago area. Our goal this year is to double that amount and collect 2000 pairs of shoes! St. Nicholas' shoe will be on display in Giddings plaza serving as a collection point for shoes through the month of December. Beginning November 24, please, bring your new or gently used shoes in a plastic bag to St. Nick's shoe. Your generosity is much appreciated!
